What doesnt varnishncsa log ?

hi,

 Looking to use varnishncsa for billing purposes but I read that
varnishncsa wont log pipe() requests or requests where varnish does no
issue an additional backend request.  Is this true?  Is there a safer way
to log ALL requests if not ?
